Brother

My Brother and his daughter, Lily.
The other day my phone rang...early. I'm not so much of a morning person. I insist I am thinking happy thoughts, though my face can't quite express them till about 10ish.

When my phone rang, I didn't answer. It was my brother, Jeff. He called again 4 minutes later. Then again, 2 minutes later. Then again 3 minutes later. Then my door bell rang 15 times. Then my phone rang again. Then someone knocked loudly on my door 7 times. I finally got out of bed, wrapped a blanket around me, peaked out the window to make sure it was Jeff. I opened the door and Jeff in disbelieve said, "wow! I've been waiting out here forever!".

I plopped down on the couch, still wrapped in my blanket. As he walked in, holding the sleeping bag he was returning, he said "lets eat breakfast together!". He had bought a box of his favorite cereal. But, unlucky for us we were out of milk. He left the box of cereal for me to eat later. He wouldn't leave till I smiled or laughed at him, which wasn't hard for him to do. As he was about to walk out the door he paused then turned around. He came to the couch I was sitting on, bent down, wrapped his arms around the outside of my blanket, and gave me a hug.

Jeff works in SLC as a fireman. His shifts start and end early in the morning. Sometimes he sleeps at our house the night before his shift. That way he doesn't have to get up so early. I'm really going to miss seeing him so much, when we move to Provo. He is so nice to have around.

Conclusion: My brother is the awesomest.

p.s. I'm loosing my drive/motivation for blogging, your thoughts?

that is a beautiful photo of your brother and niece and a wonderful story.

please don't quit blogging!
I do think there is something about summer that makes blogging less appealing. Instead of spending spare time at the computer, I'd rather be outside in the gardening.
But don't quit blogging!

love the picture. I didn't know Jeff worked in SLC. I wish my brothers were as great as him. I have 6 and not one of them would give me a hug just because!
