Door And Bell Ditch

Have you seen my friend Jackie's blog {click here if you haven't}? I highly recommend spending some time perusing her creative endeavors. She is inspiring and so positive. Back story: Jackie and her husband Isaku are one of the many blessings that have come from our move to Provo.  They are a fantastic couple who always brighten our days.  This weekend we joined them in their annual "we like your lights night"  Here is how it worked.

1. Jackie made darling cards and small gifts {click here to print your own, thank you Jackie!} to leave on stranger's doorsteps.
2. We then drove around listening to Christmas music, oooing and aweing at lovely decorated homes.
3. When we found a house we particularly liked we would run to the door, leave a note/gift on the doorknob, knock on the door, then jet back to the car. It was your basic 'doorbell ditch', except I doubt anyone called the police that night.
4. After the 'ditch' was carried out and the runner was safe in our getaway vehicle we would all laugh and feel wonderful inside as we sneakily watched the unexpecting 'victim' find his or her note.

I highly recommend this activity. We had a really wonderful time.  It was just what I needed to get out of the packing/unpacking mode and into Christmas spirit.
The following photos are all blurry, which I apologies for, but they make me so happy I had to share them.
This is Isaku running away from one of our first houses, notice the card on the doorstep...it's not JUST a card. It's a card with a darling ornament attached to it.
If you look closely and to the left of the door you will see Jackie speedily making her way back to the car, where we are all cheering her on.
Our dear friends, Isaku and Jackie.
If you would please draw your attention to the full sized Santa Clause in the bay window of the house.  That's right, he's in Santa-red long underwear.  Fantastic.  Next, you will see Tyler doing his famous heel  click.  One of the many reasons why I married him. I mean, look at the air he's getting! He's amazing.

Conclusion: We had a family council and have officially made "We like your lights" night a new Lewis holiday tradition! I suggest you do as well!
